Eric Leong is the Co-Founder and Vice President of Engineering at Simply Data Sdn. Bhd., one of Malaysia’s specialised cybersecurity firms. He brings over a decade of hands-on experience in enterprise network security, threat defence architecture, and security compliance across industries including financial services, telecommunications, and government.

Eric holds a Cisco CCIE certification in Enterprise Infrastructure (No. 39022), one of the most prestigious and technically demanding credentials in the networking and security industry. He is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP No. 478076) and a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH v12), demonstrating depth across both defensive and offensive security disciplines.

Beyond his practitioner credentials, Eric is a published CIS Benchmark Author for both Fortinet and Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls — a recognition awarded to subject matter experts who contribute to the global cybersecurity hardening standards used by organisations worldwide.
